Resource

https://designmodo.com/designer-vs-developer/

The above link explain the difference between a web developer and a web designer. I'll admit that I didn't know the difference but upon reading it, it makes perfect sense. To summarize: a web developer is the person that actually builds the website, using programs such as JavaScript, HTML or CSS. A web developer is likely to come from the field of computer science or programming. On the other hand, a web designer is likely to come from a graphic design background. A web designer is the person that designs and arranges the website, Using programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Indesign or Illustrator. The article explains it the web designer and web developer can be the same person, but are typically separate. When the two jobs are done separately, the writer explains the importance of collaboration and understanding the other person's perspective.

Shortly after I decided on the web designer/developer article, I came across this incredible resource on typography. I haven't read it completely through, but this is a comprehensive breakdown of elements such as type styles, spatial manipulation, type components and type terms. I strongly recommend reviewing this cheat sheet.
